Institutionalization of Ghetto Classics in Nairobi, Kenya

During a week-long visit to Nairobi, Kenya in August 2023 Mark has visited the education outreach initiative of Art of Music Foundation under the leadership of Elizabeth Njoroge called Ghetto Classics. The initiative existed for 15 years, and was able to impact the lives of thousands of kids and their families, as well as gain exposure worldwide.

Immediately after the consultancy team’s return from Kenya, the institutionalization plan was formed to be implemented over the next years together with the team of Art of Music Foundation. The construction of new curriculum, streamlining of processes such as fundraising, partner acquisition, digitalization and many more objectives would ensure scalable and sustainable development of this truly unique initiative.

Mark Prihodko, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in the foundation’s global outreach, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter. "The Ghetto Classics Initiative embodies the very essence of what the Althafen Foundation stands for – the transformative power of art, education, and community. We are honored to support this incredible program and help it reach new heights. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to discover their potential and create a brighter future through music."
